Torres told Jim Acosta, “Well, George Santos will be gone, it’s just a question of when. George Santos doesn’t have any shame. He is unrestrained in his pathological lawbreaking and lying. Each day we hear about a new lie George Santos tells or a new law George Santos breaks. It was revealed that Santos’ campaign had donors and names as fraudulent as George Santos’ life story. The House Republican leadership refuses to call for George Santos’ resignation, despite promising to drain the swamp. And Elise Stefanick, the chair of the GOP conference, not only enthuse that’sicly endorsed but fundraises, she owes the people of New York an apology. The best hope for holding George Santos accountable is his attorney, and I suspect his only opportunity to stay is to have leverage for a plea bargain in the event of criminal prosecution.”
George Santos will soon be gone.
House Republicans have refused to expel him from office. The nation will continue to be governed by this corrupt criminal until he is sentenced.
Kevin McCarthy could do the right thing for the country and hold a vote to expel Santos, but the Speaker needs Santos’s vote, so he set a standard of a criminal conviction for Santos to be removed from office.
Rep. Santos will soon be gone but the damage he did to House Republicans will not go away.
