Spain exits the high risk of covid and returns to May levels. Vaccination rates lower the levels of sick and serious cases.
The Ministry of Health has registered this Thursday, with data provided by the autonomous communities, 4,763 new cases of coronavirus, of which 2,090 have been diagnosed in the last 24 hours, compared to the 2,311 registered on Wednesday, which rises to 4,903. 021 the total number of people infected with Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic.
Regarding the current average incidence of infections in Spain in the last 14 days, the report shows that it continues to decrease, standing at 140.43 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, compared to the 150.37 reported on Wednesday by the department led by Carolina Darias. This places the indicators at the levels of last May and leaves behind the high risk traffic light level (more than 150 cases) to enter the medium risk.
As for those killed by Covid-19, 71 more have been notified, of which 270 have been registered in the last week. This brings the global death toll from coronavirus in Spain to 85,218 people.
There are currently 5,115 patients admitted for Covid-19 throughout Spain, 229 less than this Wednesday, and 1,258 are registered in the ICU (55 less), although in the last 24 hours there have been 442 admissions and 585 discharges.
The occupancy rate of beds occupied by coronavirus stands at 4.31 percent and in ICUs at 13.73 percent, in both cases the data improves compared to the data given this Wednesday.
73.6% of the population (34,903,802 people) have already received the complete vaccination schedule against Covid-19 and 78.1% a dose (37,067,635 people), according to the report published this Thursday by the Ministry of Health, which indicates that in Spain 68,002,439 doses of the vaccines against Covid-19 from Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Janssen have been administered, 90 percent of those distributed among the autonomous communities, which amounts to 75,579,701 units.
