Reese Witherspoon still remembers today a controversial cartoon that depicted her and other Hollywood companions in 2015. And it is not surprising, since the illustration, of dubious intentions, caused terrible anger and sadness in the actress.
The cartoon featured a Photoshopped image featuring, in addition to Witherspoon, actresses Gwyneth Paltrow, Blake Lively, Jessica Alba and Lauren Conrad. The title of the image, in which they all appeared doing housework, read: “The new domestic divas of Hollywood.” The cartoon was published by ‘Time ‘ magazine in 2015.
Witherspoon recently appeared on the latest episode of the ‘We Are Supported By’ podcast, which featured Monica Padman and Kristen Bell as hosts. It was then that the 45-year-old actress wanted to remember how “sexist” and “offensive” that image was and how important and urgent it is to support women in her career.
The cartoon showed Lively, 34, stirring a bowl, while Paltrow, 48, posed offering a cake. Alba, 40, was holding an iron, and Conrad, 35, was carrying a bowl of cleaning products. For her part, Witherspoon, dressed in an apron, was vacuuming the kitchen.
“The next two or three months are key. We are afraid that there will be an increase in jihadist attacks on our border with Afghanistan,” an anonymous Pakistani official told his country’s press on Wednesday.
“The Taliban are trying to fill the void left by the collapse of the Afghan Administration, and the international community must assist them in reorganizing their army to control their territory,” this Pakistani official continued. Pakistan has been the Taliban’s main international supporter for decades . The group, in fact, was incubated in Pakistani territory in the 1990s.
