The ‘Minister’ of Health, Josep Maria Argimon, has manifested this Monday in favor of removing the mask in open spaces and in certain conditions, such as walking alone, with cohabitants or with a small group of vaccinated.
At a press conference at the Hospital del Mar in Barcelona to present the project to expand this center, Argimon recalled that Catalonia was the first community to introduce the mandatory nature of the mask, but that at the moment this issue is regulated by the Condition.

The ‘minister’ has considered that the time has come to “normalize” life, also with regard to the mask, although “without forgetting that the pandemic has not ended.”
In this sense, he has stated that he is a “supporter” of being able to go without a mask “in open spaces and under certain conditions”, among which he has mentioned going alone, accompanied by cohabitants or when it is a small group of vaccinated people.
Asked if the Sant Joan festival (with the nightclubs already open from June 21) could take a turn for the worse in the epidemiological situation , the ‘minister’ has assured that he is more concerned with other elements, such as that the variant India in Catalonia, since it partially escapes vaccines.
