Home sales grew for the fourth consecutive month in October, reaching 1,372 units placed in that month in Metropolitan Lima and Callao, thereby consolidating the recovery of the sector, the Association of Real Estate Companies of Peru (ASEI) said today.
“For the fourth consecutive month, home sales grew, considering that 1,372 units were sold in October”, highlighted the president of the ASEI Market Analysis Committee, Ricardo Arbulú.
“In November and December of this year the same number of homes will be sold as in the same months of 2019, that is, an average of 1,200 units,” he anticipated.
According to the ASEI Real Estate Analytics study , sales in October of this year reached 1,372 units, registering an increase of 24% compared to the same month of 2019.
Sales in the capital’s real estate market in October 2019 amounted to 1,102 housing units, while in November and December of that year they totaled 1,060 and 1,029 houses, respectively.
Then, in January of this year, sales reached 1,162 homes and in the following months there were different records, both in February (1,182), March (515), April (173), May (464) and June (885).
Ricardo Arbulú explained that in July (1,384) and August (1,355) there was a greater sale of homes because there was an embalming of purchase intentions by families, although it remained constant in September (1,348).
He indicated that the report showed that the Modern Lima sector (Jesús María, San Miguel, Lince, Magdalena del Mar, Pueblo Libre and Surquillo) continued to lead with 44.3% of the 1,372 homes sold in October this year.
Then come Lima Top (Barranco, Miraflores, San Borja, San Isidro and Santiago de Surco) with a participation of 26.3%, Lima Centro (Breña, Cercado de Lima, Rímac and La Victoria) with 14.8% and Lima Norte (Carabayllo, Comas , Independencia, Los Olivos, Puente Piedra, San Martín de Porres, Ancón and Santa Rosa) with 5.8%.
