"I have found Smye Holland Associates' creative input invaluable in helping us to develop ideas
and strategies to communicate and engage with our target audience."
Alex Driver, Energy Saving Trust Anglia Centre, Marketing Manager
The Energy Saving Trust Anglia Centre is a government funded organisation set up to provide energy saving advice to the public and help stop climate change. Recently opened to serve the Eastern region, the organisation needed to announce its existence and start encouraging people to save energy.
Working alongside the national Save Your 20% campaign run by the Energy Saving Trust, Smye Holland Associates launched a high impact regional competition to engage the public. The objectives were to raise awareness of the Energy Saving Trust Anglia Centre and the services it provides and to collect contact details of people to whom the trust could offer further energy saving advice.
A fully integrated campaign was devised to promote the competition, which included running special promotions, information and news bulletins across four regional radio stations. Promotional leaflets and posters were produced and distributed throughout retail outlets, libraries and petrol stations across the region.
Media relations were used to gain coverage in local and regional newspapers as well as to set up interviews with energy saving advisors on local radio stations.
The focal point of the campaign was a website where people could submit their entries to the competition - and which then provided a database of contacts for the Trust. Over a four week campaign over 10.000 names and addresses were collected.
