LOCAL DRAIN DOCTOR TARGETS £2 MILLION TURNOVER

Drain Doctor Plumbing (www.draindoctor.co.uk) – which provides emergency plumbing and drainage repair services in Ipswich, Colchester, Chelmsford, Cambridge and Southend – is set to double its turnover to more than £2 million over the next five years.

Currently turning over more than £1 million, the franchise has increased the number of jobs it tackles by 15 per cent over the past year. In order to sustain and build on this growth, franchise owner Rob Simpson has relocated the business to new premises.

Rob Simpson said: “The franchise was previously turning over more than £1 million per year. We are looking to double that over the next five years. I intend to increase our marketing activity to create more brand awareness and visibility. As part of our marketing campaign we will target the commercial sector and tender for larger commercial and civil contracts.

“In order to achieve this we will need to increase our fleet to 14 fully equipped vans with technicians in order to cope with the additional workloads that will be generated. To sustain that level of growth we have relocated the business to new premises which give us the scope we need to run the whole operation from a single location.”

Rob has moved the headquarters of his franchise business to prestigious office accommodation in converted Royal Air Force barracks at Martlesham Heath just outside Ipswich.

“The new office space provides a geographically central location for our fleet. These offices close to Adastral Park are ideal. They are near the junction of the A12 and A14 trunk roads which bisect our franchise area North/South and East/West.

“Because our business covers from Aldeburgh down to Lakeside and from Huntingdon to Felixstowe, this makes an ideal meeting point.”

Drivers of Rob’s nine-vehicle fleet meet every Monday morning to replenish their stocks, pick up equipment and get their jobs for the week. It is also easy for them to pop back during the week if they need to.

To mark the opening of the new Martlesham Heath offices Drain Doctor directors Jan and Freddie Mitman visited Rob for a tour. “I was delighted that Jan and Freddie were able to attend to officially mark the opening of our new offices,” said Rob.

Drain Doctor will continue to be available on the telephone 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

Rob remains driven by his desire to provide a first class plumbing service for homeowners and businesses in the area. He said: “Our services include all plumbing and drainage repairs, CCTV drain surveys, drain lining and replacement and grease management. We will continue to provide the same dazzling levels of service in East Anglia as Drain Doctor does in the rest of the country.

“Our customers get fixed-price, no obligation quotes, a complete guarantee on all our work, and a full 24 hour per day seven day per week service with no call out charges – so people pay the same price for work at any time of day or night. What’s more, we turn up at the agreed time!”

Notes to editors:

1. Launched in the United Kingdom in 1993, Drain Doctor Plumbing has quickly grown to become the country’s largest emergency plumbing and drain repair service. It now provides a 24 hour a day, 365 days a year service in every part of the country with each franchise run as an independent business.
2. Drain Doctor’s central principle is to deliver dazzling levels of service in a market plagued by cowboy operators who are overcharging customers for shoddy workmanship. Franchisees offer a full 24 hour per day seven day per week service with no call out charges and they give fixed-price, no obligation quotes with a full guarantee on all their work.
3. Technicians are trained not just with technical skills – including the latest techniques such as closed circuit camera drain surveys and no-dig drain repairs – but in customer care that is reflected in such things as wearing overshoes while in customers’ homes and clearing up carefully after every job.
