SENIOR MARKETING PROFESSIONALS TO HOLD LEEDS EVENT – GIVING UP FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY IN PURSUIT OF MARKETING KNOWLEDGE

The Levitt Group (www.levittgroup.org.uk) – the organisation which brings together some of the UK’s most qualified marketers – is staging a weekend event in Leeds on 19 and 20 March 2010 under the title ‘Advanced knowledge for senior marketers’.

The event – at Weetwood Hall Conference Centre and Hotel – is open to chartered marketers and Fellows of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) (www.cim.co.uk). It includes presentations from four speakers at the cutting edge of their speciality in addition to a private dinner, accommodation and networking.

To maximise use of delegates’ time while making the minimum impact on both the working week and the weekend, the event starts at 17:30 on Friday 19 March and finishes at lunchtime on Saturday 20 March, with lunch provided for those who want it.

Speakers on the Friday night are Neil Pakey, deputy chief executive of John Lennon Airport who will talk about the power of PR, and Professor Stan Paliwoda of Strathclyde University will talk on the subject of 'international markets - the bigger picture'.

On Saturday, the speakers are William Higham, author of 'The next big thing - spotting and forecasting consumer trends for profit', and Helen Curtis, head of marketing for global portfolio at BT Global Services, who will add a couple more Ps to the marketing mix - 'proposition' and 'partners'.

All delegates will get a free copy of William Higham's book. The event qualifies for seven hours of ‘continuing professional development‘ (CPD) time under the CIM’s CPD system.
